Dr Abuo holds a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBCh.) from the College of Medicine, University of Calabar. He completed his housemanship at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar after which he obtained his Certificate of Full Registration as a Medical Practitioner. He also holds a Certificate in Geriatric Medicine from the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan.
Dr Abuo has completed courses including but not limited to: Health Communication for Managers, mHealth Basics, Case Management of Childhood Illnesses by the USAID; Sick Kids Public Health Nutrition by Nestlé Nutrition Institute and Application of Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) strategy to Emergency or Fragile Health System Context by the WHO.
With over five years working experience, most of which is in the private sector, he has deep knowledge and understanding of the peculiarities of private practice in Nigeria with which he delivers utmost satisfaction to the clientele. He has had stints with various international organizations including the WHO where he worked as a LOTS Quality Assurance Sampling Surveyor and Programme Assessment and Performance Management and Action Plan Supervisor. He has also worked on a health system strengthening intervention with Save The Children International as Intervention Manager.
Dr Abuo is currently pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology and aims to integrate Public Health principles in clinical practice. He loves travelling, meeting new people and learning new cultures.
